Idea/Event/Creative Thing Submissions:

This site will thrive with your ideas, help, and submissions.

Thanks for considering sharing a written work with Culture On The Line.

There are no sponsors, advertisers, or paid subscriptions — there is literally no money coming in, somewhat purposely. (No advertisers mean there is no need to shape the content to gain numbers.) Being direct, the downside is I do not have money to pay contributors.

As an artist who is asked for donations too often, I understand entirely why contributing here might not work for everyone. There are no judgments if you need to take a pass!

Assuming you’re still considering a contribution, we can be very flexible about what topic to write about. If there’s something that you’re passionate about, go for it! Likewise, there is no set timeline. (I’ve found that certain times of the week work better than others for posting a new publication, so I try to time things on my end.)

In addition to what you write, there are three other things I’ll ask for before publication:

• 99% of the time, I need a title for your work.

• A one-paragraph-ish bio, third person. Professional, fun, or something in between, your choice.

• A photo with you in it. Your choice of what that is… headshot, you doing something, everyday shot, family, etc. (You should be able to be picked out as the primary person in the photo.) If it’s a photo you like, that’ll work! (I put a small photo of the author at the bottom of the page.)

I reserve the right to make minor grammatical changes, such as commas, etc. If I consider a significant change, I'll check with you. The work and copyright remain yours. It's OK if you want to do something else with it later.

I hope you continue to consider a work! Please feel free to email, text, or message anytime — I appreciate you. Thank you!

Andy
